2016 Criterium

2016 Criterium

With each production of Criterium we allow the unique characteristic of that vintage to express itself. The 2016 vintage, grown predominately on south facing slopes in the Adelaida District AVA, presented three different clones of Cabernet Sauvignon grown on 2 different root stocks and a single clone of Merlot and Cab Franc. The drought was apparent showing low yields of Cabernet Sauvignon allowing us to add a small amount of Petite Sirah for a fun twist. The 2016 Criterium spent an abundant amount of time in french oak barrels allowing the wine to develop naturally, and after attentive cellaring, a deep, complex wine with exceptional aging potential is the result. Members of the ‘Holiday Club’ receive 2 bottles annually.
