2011 "Le Pave" red blend

Jespersen Ranch, Edna Valley

Peloton Cellars introduces the new “Le Pave” (pronounced "Lay PAW-vay") red blend. Our Le Pave; which is French for “the cobblestone,” pays homage to the brutal cobblestone pavers in the grueling Paris-Roubaix Challenge which takes place in northern France in early Spring. This small lot, vineyard-designate production is made up of 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah and is harvested from the Jespersen Ranch in Edna Valley.

It is a beautiful and elegant wine with rose petal texture, full body, and long lasting finish. As Le Pave opens characteristics of blackberry, pomegranate, light black pepper and a hint of nutmeg come forth while the finish lingers with characteristics of ripe black cherry, spice, smoke and pepper. It is ready to drink now, but can be cellared for several years. We recommend that you decant the Le Pave for about 45 minutes before drinking.
